What this is
In New York State, an apparel manufacturer or contractor must register with the Department of Labor (Labor Law article 12-A). A manufacturer may only give work to a registered contractor, and must check the registration. This site gives every certificate a record you can find and cite: number, status, issue and expiration dates.
Who uses it
- Manufacturers and brands — check a contractor's registration before sending work.
- Contractors — your own record, and when it expires.
- Buyers and auditors — the registered shops of the garment district.
What it is not
Not the Department of Labor, and not the certificate. A shop missing here may have registered after October 1, 2026: confirm with the Department's own registry.
